Ocean Springs urges residents to report storm damage
City of Ocean Springs officials are urging residents who sustained home or property damage in recent storms to submit damage reports so emergency managers can assess the scope of the impact.
Officials said on Facebook that anyone with an emergency should contact the Ocean Springs Fire Department or call 911. For non-emergencies, residents can complete a self-report form on the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency website at https://www.msema.org/report-damage.
Authorities say damage reports help emergency management officials identify areas that may need assistance and inform broader damage assessments. Officials emphasized that submitting a report is not an application for financial assistance; MEMA uses the information to determine the extent of storm impacts across affected areas.
Mississippi Emergency Management Agency coordinates state-level emergency response and damage assessment activities. City officials asked residents to take a few moments to report storm-related damage to their property and stay safe. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
