Ocean Springs police escort Secretary of the Navy to Ingalls Shipbuilding
Yesterday the Ocean Springs Police Department said on Facebook it assisted partner law enforcement agencies in providing a safe escort for Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao during his visit to Ingalls Shipbuilding.
The department said the escort was part of coordinated efforts to ensure the safety and security of distinguished visitors to the community. The Ocean Springs Police Department serves the city of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and frequently works with regional and federal agencies on security and public-safety matters.
Ingalls Shipbuilding is a major U.S. shipyard in the Gulf Coast region that builds and repairs vessels for the Navy and other customers, and visits by senior defense officials often draw multiagency security planning. The Ocean Springs department said it was proud to work alongside fellow agencies to support the important mission of local military and shipbuilding partners.
Details about the visit and security operations were limited. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
