Mississippi Power sponsors South Mississippi Crime Meeting in Gulfport
Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers said in a Facebook post that Mississippi Power, a Southern Company, sponsored the South Mississippi Crime Meeting in Gulfport and provided lunch for attendees.
The post said Chris Loposser, manager of corporate security for Mississippi Power, addressed officers from federal, state, local and military law enforcement agencies. Barry Mince, Lowe’s retail crime manager for Region 15, also spoke with officers about what the post described as the growing issue of organized retail crime.
Lowe’s provided two special door prizes, the post said. Pass Christian Police Chief Daren Freeman and Gautier Police Department Investigator Cody Small won those prizes. The post added that additional door prizes were donated by Target, Starbucks D’Iberville and Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers.
Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers thanked businesses and organizations that donated prizes during National Police Week and invited other groups to contribute door prizes by messaging the organization’s Facebook page, the post said. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
