The Mississippi Department of Public Safety will open a new Driver Service location on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, in Columbia, the agency announced. The office will serve residents of Marion County and the surrounding area and will be located at 153 Partnership Way, Columbia, MS 39429.
Appointments can be scheduled online at dps.ms.gov, the department said, and average wait times at Mississippi Driver Service locations are currently 14 minutes or less. The department operates driver service centers across the state that provide licensing and vehicle-related services.
“This new office is a great addition for the people of Columbia and the surrounding area,” said Commissioner Sean Tindell. “Our goal is to continue improving access to services across the state while keeping wait times low and customer service strong.”
The opening expands local access to state driver services and could reduce travel times for residents who previously had to visit other offices. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
