Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers urges anonymous tips to help solve crimes
Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers on a recent WXXV News 25 newscast urged community members to submit anonymous tips to help solve crimes, Executive Director Lori Massey said. Massey spoke with WXXV reporter Dave Elliott about how the program works and how tipsters can provide information without revealing their identities.
Massey explained that tips submitted through the P3 Tips app or by calling TIPS go directly to law enforcement and can lead to investigations and arrests. She said the organization offers rewards for information that results in felony arrests, noting that anonymity helps encourage participation.
The organization has received anonymous tips on cases for years and works with local law enforcement to evaluate and act on information, Massey said. Law enforcement agencies often rely on leads from the public to advance investigations and solve crimes.
