Jackson police seek public help after impound lot burglary
Jackson Police Department is asking the public for help identifying three people seen in surveillance photos during a commercial burglary at the city’s impound lot on the evening of Sunday, May 31, 2026, the department said in a Facebook post.
The post said the three subjects were seen walking inside the impound lot, pulling on door handles and looking into vehicles before leaving with a golf cart, an ATV and a motor bike.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification and arrests of the suspects, the post said. Crime Stoppers asks that people provide information, not their names, and can be reached at 601-355-TIPS (8477). Jackson police also asked anyone with information to call the department at 601-960-1800.
An impound lot is where a city stores towed or seized vehicles; thefts from such lots can hinder investigations and municipal operations. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
