Jackson police seek missing 74-year-old man

The Jackson Police Department is asking the public for help locating 74-year-old Mitchell Cooley, who was last seen June 29, 2026, the department said.

Cooley is described as a white male, 5-foot-9, 130 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants, the department said.

The department said Cooley left his residence on Myrtlewood Drive between about 7 p.m. last night and about 6 p.m. today and has not returned. Police said he has a medical condition that could greatly impair his judgment.

Missing-persons reports involving older adults with medical issues can pose urgent public-safety concerns because of increased risk of injury or confusion, police and elder-care experts say.
