Jackson police seek 24-year-old man missing since June 6
Jackson police are asking for public help locating 24-year-old Ecclecius Nelson, who was last seen on June 6 after leaving his mother’s residence on Wiggins Street on foot, the department said. Nelson is described as a Black male, 6-foot-3 and about 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
The Jackson Police Department said Nelson has a diagnosed medical condition that might impair his judgment, increasing concern for his welfare. Authorities said he has not returned home since he was last seen.
The department posted the information on its official Facebook page and asked anyone with information to contact the Jackson Police Department, the post said. Police typically ask people who believe they have seen a missing person to call their local police nonemergency number or to use the department’s official communication channels.
The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency responsible for public safety and missing-person investigations in the city. Missing adults with medical vulnerabilities often prompt expanded checks of hospitals, shelters and known locations, officials said in past cases. The department did not provide further details in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
