Jackson Police hold daily roll calls at Pine Ridge Gardens
Jackson Police Department Precinct 1 Commander Abraham Thompson is conducting daily roll calls at the Pine Ridge Garden Apartment Complex on Rebel Woods Drive, the department said in a Facebook post.
The post said the daily gatherings bring together Precinct 1 command staff, shift supervisors, patrol officers, local clergy, nonprofit leaders, apartment management and residents to strengthen collaboration and build trust.
The effort is part of Chief RaShall Brackney’s initiative to address the violence that has historically affected the community, the department said. Moving the roll calls to the apartment complex is described as a step toward fostering partnerships and creating a pathway to improve quality of life for residents.
Roll calls are typically brief meetings where officers share information, coordinate actions and connect with community stakeholders; the department said the new location is intended to make those conversations more accessible to residents. Officials said the gatherings aim to promote a safer, stronger and more connected neighborhood.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
