Jackson Police Chief RaShall Brackney greeted participants in the HCSO Citizens Police Academy after being invited by Tyree Jones, according to a post on the Jackson Police Department’s Facebook page.
The post said Brackney and the men and women of the Jackson Police Department expressed gratitude for their ongoing relationship and partnership with Sheriff Tyree Jones and the HCSO. The department did not provide additional details in the post.
Citizens police academies are community outreach programs that aim to give residents an overview of law enforcement practices, foster transparency and build relationships between police agencies and the public. Such programs typically include classroom sessions and demonstrations designed to help participants better understand patrol procedures, investigations and public safety challenges.
