The Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers, working with federal and state law enforcement partners, have arrested a suspect and located a kidnapping victim at a Walmart on Highway 18 in Jackson.
According to the department, Amber Cole Mason was taken from her home on McCluer Road earlier today by Timmie R. Davis Jr. Police said both the suspect and the victim were found at the Walmart and Davis was taken into JPD custody.
The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for the city of Jackson and frequently coordinates with state and federal partners on serious crimes, including alleged abductions. Kidnapping is a felony offense and cases often involve rapid multiagency response to ensure victim safety and preserve evidence.
Davis remains in JPD custody while investigators continue their work. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
