Gulfport police seek man wanted on counterfeit charge
The Gulfport Police Department is asking for help locating Michael Dewayne Riley, 37, who is wanted on a felony charge of uttering a counterfeit instrument or coin, the department said.
Riley’s last known address was in the Pass Christian area, Gulfport police said. Authorities did not release additional details about the alleged offense or when it occurred.
Anyone with information on Riley’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by downloading the P3 Tips app or by calling Crime Stoppers. The Gulfport Police Department said that to qualify for a reward, information must come directly through Crime Stoppers.
Uttering a counterfeit instrument generally involves passing or attempting to use forged or counterfeit currency or documents and is treated as a serious felony in many jurisdictions. Crime Stoppers programs typically allow people to submit tips anonymously and may offer rewards for information leading to arrests. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
