The Gulfport Police Department named its employees of the month in a Facebook post, congratulating Officer Brock Billiot, Officer Jordan Cutrer (not pictured), Dispatcher Janiah Owens, Officer Ahmad Williams, Dispatcher Makayla Nelson, Officer Devin Bermudez and Dispatch Supervisor Ryan Bennett, the department said.
The post praised the group for their “dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving our community,” and thanked them for representing the department with pride, according to the social media message. The post included hashtags such as #GulfportProud, #Lead, #Motivate and #Inspire.
Recognition programs like this are common among law enforcement agencies as a way to highlight individual and team contributions to public safety, boost morale and reinforce standards of service. Officers and dispatchers play complementary roles, responding to incidents, coordinating emergency responses and maintaining communication with the public.
The department also extended appreciation to Ryan Goldin and the Florence Gardens community for their support and generosity. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
