Fernwood Fire Department donates dog food to Pike County Sheriff’s Office

Chief Deputy Robert Mack of the Fernwood Fire Department recently donated dog food to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, the office said in a post on its social media page.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department thanked Mack for his generosity and continued support, saying the donation demonstrates the importance of community partnerships and neighbors helping neighbors.

Such donations can help law enforcement agencies meet everyday needs and care for animals that may be housed temporarily by an agency, including animals seized in investigations or working animals, officials said. The office noted that contributions like this provide direct support for the needs of the sheriff’s office and the animals in its care.

The post closed with an expression of gratitude to Mack for serving the community and offering kindness and generosity, the public relations department said. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
