Deputies arrest Tunica man in Verona area on meth possession charge

Deputies in Lee County arrested a Tunica man on March 8, 2026, after a traffic stop in the Verona area, Sheriff Jim H. Johnson’s office said in a Facebook post. The driver was identified as Sherrodrick M. Taylor, 31, of Tunica, Mississippi.

During the encounter, deputies determined Taylor was in possession of methamphetamine, the post said. He was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine).

A Justice Court judge set Taylor’s bond at $10,000, the post said. Possession of methamphetamine is commonly charged as possession of a Schedule II substance under state and federal controlled substances laws, which classify drugs based on potential for abuse and accepted medical use.

The Lee County sheriff’s office handles law enforcement for the county and routinely posts arrest information to inform the public about safety and enforcement actions. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
