Deputies arrest Shannon woman on meth, firearm charge
Lee County Sheriff Jim H. Johnson said in a Facebook post that deputies responded June 13 to a call for service in the Shannon area of Lee County and identified the caller as Kristina M. Rogers.
Further investigation revealed Rogers was in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm, Sheriff Johnson said. Deputies arrested Rogers and charged her with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) enhanced with a firearm.
Rogers, 36, of Shannon, Mississippi, was booked on the charge. A Justice Court judge set bond at $5,000, the sheriff’s post said.
Methamphetamine is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance under federal law. A firearm enhancement on a drug charge can lead to increased penalties under state law.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
