Clinton woman arrested in mini-storage theft

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office said a Clinton woman was arrested on an allegation of theft at a local mini-storage facility, according to a Facebook post from the agency. The post did not provide further details about the suspect, the specific facility or when the arrest occurred.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for Rankin County, Mississippi, and routinely investigates property crimes including theft from storage units. The department uses social media to share arrest information and to alert residents to public-safety matters.

Theft from self-storage facilities can result in lost property, insurance complications and criminal charges. Law enforcement agencies typically investigate reported break-ins, collect evidence and refer cases to county prosecutors for possible charging. Victims are advised to report missing property promptly and to secure units with quality locks.

Under Mississippi law, a suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
