Capitol Police hold April Citizens’ Academy graduation
Capitol Police congratulated the graduates of its April 2026 Citizens’ Academy in a Facebook post, highlighting completion of an eight-day program designed to familiarize residents with the agency’s work.
The agency said the academy provides a comprehensive look at the operations of Capitol Police, giving participants a deeper understanding of the work officers and staff do each day. The post said the program is designed for residents of the CCID and aims to offer an inside perspective while encouraging continued conversations, stronger relationships and greater community involvement.
Citizens’ academies are commonly used by law enforcement agencies to increase transparency and build public trust by offering briefings, demonstrations and opportunities to meet officers and staff. Organizers say such programs can help residents better understand agency procedures and priorities and can foster ongoing dialogue between the public and police.
Details about the latest class, including the number of participants and session topics, were not included in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
