Biloxi officer promotes safety at Gracie Gulf Coast event

Officer Lyons spoke with parents and students at Gracie Gulf Coast in Biloxi about safety tips, staying aware and building strong communication skills, the Biloxi Police Department said in a Facebook post. The department thanked the staff at Gracie Gulf Coast for the invitation and warm welcome and said the event provided an opportunity to connect with local and military families.

The Biloxi Police Department, which provides law enforcement services across the Mississippi Gulf Coast city, said community engagement helps build confidence, trust and safer environments for youth. Outreach efforts such as school visits and community events are part of broader community policing strategies aimed at preventing crime and strengthening relationships between officers and residents.

Gracie Gulf Coast is a local training center that hosts classes and community events for families in the Biloxi area. The department said the gathering brought together parents, students and area residents to discuss practical safety measures and communication techniques.

Such events are significant in a city with a sizable military population, including families connected to nearby Keesler Air Force Base, because they provide tailored information and build local partnerships. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
