2nd Circuit holds candlelight ceremony to support victims, families
The 2nd Circuit Court District held its annual candlelight ceremony Tuesday to support victims and families working to overcome trauma, the court said in a Facebook post.
Candlelight ceremonies are typically intended to honor those affected by crime and to offer a visible show of community support. Organizers often use the events to raise awareness about victim services and to provide a space for reflection and solidarity.
Circuit courts and related agencies frequently partner with local nonprofits, victim advocates and law enforcement to connect survivors with counseling, legal information and other resources. Such observances can help reduce stigma, promote healing and underscore the role of community-based supports alongside the justice system.
The court did not provide additional details in its post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
