988 provides 24/7 support; you don’t have to carry it alone

A recent Facebook post urged people struggling with emotional or mental burdens to seek help, saying, “Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.” The post said people can call, text or chat 988 for support 24/7.

The three-digit number 988 connects callers to the U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, a nationwide service that links people in crisis with trained counselors. The line is intended to provide immediate support for people experiencing suicidal thoughts, severe emotional distress or other behavioral health crises.

Advocates say easy-to-remember crisis numbers can lower barriers to seeking help, offering a direct route to counseling without the need to navigate complex health systems. Services available by call, text and online chat aim to meet people where they are and provide rapid, confidential assistance.

The Facebook post serves as a reminder of available resources and encourages anyone in need to reach out. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
