UMMC welcomes School of Medicine Class of 2030
The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s School of Medicine welcomed the Class of 2030 in a Facebook reel that said, “Welcome to UMMC, SOM Class of 2030! 🩺” UMMC said the post appeared on the school’s official social media account.
The medical center serves as the state’s academic health science center and is known for training physicians, conducting clinical research and providing patient care across Mississippi. Its School of Medicine educates future doctors who go on to work in hospitals, clinics and academic settings.
Welcoming a new class marks the start of several years of classroom learning, clinical training and preparation for residency. Most medical school programs in the United States span four years and combine basic science coursework with supervised clinical rotations in hospitals and outpatient settings.
Details about the incoming students and orientation activities were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
