Tate Reeves receives inaugural Hunt Institute leadership award
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves received the Hunt Institute’s inaugural Governor James B. Hunt, Jr. Leadership Award and credited the state’s parents, teachers and students for its educational results.
In a statement, Reeves said the “Mississippi Miracle” had drawn attention nationally, describing the state’s results as “the envy of America”. He said the award’s real winners were Mississippi’s parents, teachers and students.
Reeves thanked the Hunt Institute and Mississippians, saying many people had worked hard to improve educational outcomes for children across the state. He said he was grateful for what they had accomplished together.
