A school district says it plans to reopen Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, after a recent ice storm, but cautioned that all plans remain tentative. The district announced the target date Thursday, Jan. 29, in a Facebook post and said teams are actively assessing buildings, buses and grounds to ensure conditions are safe for students and staff.
District officials said the Feb. 9 date allows operations staff and instructional teams time to restore full functionality across campuses and to prepare for a smooth transition back to regular school routines. All school activities remain paused while the closure continues.
The district said it is staying in contact with county officials about safety concerns as recovery efforts proceed and thanked parents and community members for their patience and support. No specific timelines for individual campuses were provided in the post.
