New Albany High School senior Jonathan Shaw was selected as one of eight students for the Fall 2026 Toyota Creating Your Future Program after 72 applications were narrowed to 32 interviews, the school said.
Creating Your Future is Toyota Mississippi’s education-to-work initiative, focused on developing a highly skilled workforce to enhance Mississippi’s future.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
