D’Iberville officers speak to high school classes about first-responder careers

Detective Lauren Etheridge and Captain Michael Knapp spoke with several classes at D'Iberville High School about becoming police officers and serving as first responders, according to the D'Iberville Police Department.

The officers also discussed making good choices, treating others with respect, helping people in need and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. They described police work as extending beyond law enforcement to serving people, building relationships, setting an example and making a positive difference in someone’s life.

The department said the conversation might inspire a student to become a police officer, firefighter or another first responder, or encourage a young person to become the best version of themselves.
