Blue Mountain Christian University is marking 70 years of ministerial education, saying it has spent seven decades equipping men and women to carry the Gospel around the world.
The university said thousands of ministers, missionaries and servant-leaders have been shaped at the institution during that time. It described the milestone as a legacy that began with a calling and emphasized its role in building a foundation for reaching the world for Christ.

The university also commemorated the anniversary as 70 years of faithfulness and honored the lives changed by those who answered the call to ministry. It said, “The best is still ahead.”
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
