Blue Mountain Christian University held Gratitude Day last week on its campus lawn, bringing together students, faculty and staff to write thank-you notes to donors who help make their education possible.
The university said scholarships, programs and other opportunities at Blue Mountain begin with donors who choose to invest in the next generation. The event gave the university community an opportunity to express appreciation to both new and longtime donors.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
