Tupelo man arrested in connection with armed robbery at mall
Tupelo police arrested William D. Rousseau on Dec. 12 in connection with an armed robbery at the Mall at Barnes Crossing.
The incident occurred Nov. 30 when a store employee reported that a man stole clothing from Belk Department Store. Loss prevention officers approached the suspect in the parking lot, told him to return inside, and were threatened with a firearm. The suspect then fled in a vehicle.
Rousseau, 48, of Tupelo, was charged with armed robbery. A judge ordered him held without bond during a court hearing Dec. 14. The case is scheduled for presentation to the Lee County Grand Jury, according to police.
