Man charged with assaulting officers at Texas Roadhouse in Tupelo

Tupelo police arrested a man after he assaulted officers during a disturbance at Texas Roadhouse on North Gloster Street, authorities said.

Officers responded to the scene on December 23 after receiving reports of a disturbance. They located the suspect in the restaurant’s parking lot and attempted to speak with him. The man became irate and refused to exit his vehicle when asked. After forcing him out of the vehicle, officers say he bit one officer and struck another multiple times.

The suspect, identified as Davanta R. Randle, 30, of Prairie, was taken into custody and transported to Lee County Jail on multiple charges. On December 24, he was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen set his bond at $100,000. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, authorities said.
