Pittsboro woman charged with cyberstalking after alleged text-message threats

Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received a cyberstalking complaint on Sept. 22, according to the sheriff’s office.

Complainants reported that Rodnise Anderson, 28, of Pittsboro, allegedly made death threats toward them by text message. Following an investigation, Anderson was charged with one count of cyberstalking, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Lafayette County deputies, assisted by deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, located Anderson at her Pittsboro residence. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.

The Lafayette County Justice Court later issued Anderson a $10,000 bond. The allegations remain subject to court proceedings, and suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
