The Friday Night Rally Kickoff Party for The Bangers Classic is scheduled for Friday evening in Southaven, with proceeds benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The event will feature professional exhibition matches, local celebrity pairings, challenges, a silent auction, DJ music and appetizers. A $3,000 Moneyball Tournament is also planned.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at 6787 Snowden Lane in Southaven. Guest kickoff tickets cost $25, and registration information is available on the event flyer.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
