The third annual Lacing up for Hope 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Snowden Grove, with proceeds benefiting children in DeSoto, Tate and Tunica counties through Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center.
The City of Southaven said it is a sponsor of the event.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
