Picayune police K9 teams train monthly at different locations
The Picayune Police Department’s K9 division conducts monthly team training at different locations so its K9 teams can work in varied locations and circumstances, according to a department Facebook post.
Each K9 team is required to complete at least 12 training hours per month to remain ready to deploy, the department said.
The department held its September training session at the school building of St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church, which it thanked for providing the location. Joe Phillips of Legacy K9 worked with the department’s decoys on Trea’s bite work. Volunteers Jacob Poole, Matthew Hill and Malana Petree helped with setup and video.
