Overnight I-20 lane closures planned at three Hinds County locations

The Mississippi Department of Transportation plans alternating lane closures in both directions on I-20 in Hinds County from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for three nights, from Wednesday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 25.

The closures will occur at Gallatin Street, over Lynch Street and over Wiggins Road. Crews will place temporary striping in preparation for lane shifts tied to upcoming bridge work under the I-20/I-55 Freight Corridors Improvement Project, also known as “The Big Fix.”

MDOT urged drivers to slow down, expect rolling lane closures and watch for roadside workers and signage.
