Overnight lane closures planned on Jackson-area I-20 for bridge project

Crews are placing temporary roadway stripes overnight this week on portions of I-20 in Jackson as preparation for bridge repairs included in the I-20/I-55 Freight Corridors Improvement Project, also known as The Big Fix, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

The work is scheduled between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. and will use rolling lane closures at Gallatin Street, on I-20 over Lynch Street and on I-20 over Wiggins Road.

MDOT advised drivers to slow down, expect overnight lane closures and remain alert for roadside crews and signs in the work areas. Project information is available at GoMDOT.com/TheBigFix.
