Higgins Heating and Cooling stopped by the Magee Police Department and brought doughnuts and sweets for officers, dispatchers and jail staff, according to a department post.
The department expressed appreciation for the company’s kindness and continued support of the Magee Police Department and its personnel. The post was signed by Chief Denis J. Borges.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
