DeSoto County leaders mark Constitution Day with ceremony and music

Supervisor Mark Gardner joined other area leaders to celebrate National Constitution Day, an observance held annually on Sept. 17 to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787.

The observance marks the 239th anniversary of the signing by 39 delegates at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Constitution Week is designated from Sept. 17 through Sept. 23 to promote the study of American civic heritage.
