The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi held its annual Blue Mass on Sunday to honor and pray for men and women who serve as first responders in the community.
Bishop Louis Kihneman officiated the Mass, which brought together first responders, their families and community members to recognize their service and sacrifice.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
