The Annual Literary Luncheon is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at First Methodist Church, 207 E. Bankhead, 38652. Attendees should enter through the church’s back entrance.
The 2026 Faulkner Literary Awards will be announced during the luncheon. This year’s speakers are John T. Edge and Jim Gulley.
The cost to attend is $20. Registration and payment are available through https://forms.gle/ZimVZFuRsbHXq5JV7, with a deadline of Sept. 23.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
