The Annual Faulkner Literary Luncheon is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at First Methodist Church, 207 E. Bankhead, 38652. The 2026 Faulkner Literary Awards will be announced during the event.
This year’s speakers are John T. Edge and Jim Gulley. Attendees should enter through the church’s back entrance.

Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
