Mississippi builds industries while attracting new ones

Mississippi isn’t just attracting new industries, it is building them, a recent Facebook post said.

The short social media message distilled a broader economic strategy state officials and business leaders have described in recent years: not only recruiting outside companies but fostering homegrown manufacturing, technology and other industrial activity.

That approach matters because building industries locally can help diversify an economy that has long relied on agriculture and traditional manufacturing. Local production can support job creation, expand supply chains and encourage investment in workforce training and infrastructure.

Details on specific projects, investments or timelines were not included in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
