Police chief praises officers after Cherry Street arrests

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Police Chief Larry Burns on Thursday praised two officers for their roles in a recent burglary investigation on the 2000 block of Cherry Street that led to two people being taken into custody without incident.

“I want to personally recognize Lieutenant Bobby Jones and Officer Nakia Clemmons for the outstanding work they displayed during a recent burglary investigation,” Burns said in a statement posted by the Vicksburg Police Department.

Burns said the officers’ quick response, professionalism, teamwork and attention to detail helped secure the scene and result in the arrests without injury or further incident. He said their actions reflect the professionalism and leadership of the Vicksburg Police Department.
