Passenger dies after motorcycle, car collide on U.S. 49 in Covington County
COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. — A 42-year-old Moselle woman died after a motorcycle and a passenger car collided about 9:55 p.m. April 15 on U.S. Highway 49, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said a 2025 Kia K4 driven by 28-year-old April N. Clark of Taylorsville was traveling north on U.S. Highway 49 when it collided with a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle also heading north. The motorcycle was operated by 39-year-old James K. Morgan of Hattiesburg, the patrol said.
Clark was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries, troopers said. Morgan was also hospitalized with serious injuries. The motorcycle passenger, Jennifer L. Bush, 42, of Moselle was transported with life-threatening injuries and later died, the patrol said.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. U.S. Highway 49 is a major north-south route in Mississippi that runs through several counties. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
