No. 9 Ole Miss defeated No. 24 Louisville 41-38 in a walk-off win Sunday night at Nissan Stadium in the Music City Kickoff. The victory gave the Rebels their 98th season-opening win, according to Ole Miss Athletics.
Ole Miss trailed 13-10 early in the third quarter before responding with 31 points over the remainder of the game. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss accounted for all four of the Rebels’ touchdowns in the win.
Chambliss completed the game with 336 passing yards, marking the ninth 300-yard passing game of his Ole Miss career. That total ranks seventh in school history, just behind Eli Manning’s 10. Chambliss has also now thrown and rushed for a touchdown in the same game six times during his career.
Deuce Alexander made his first career start as a Rebel and recorded 159 receiving yards. He scored on two 62-yard receptions, providing Ole Miss with a big-play threat during the second half.
Alexander’s total was the first 100-yard receiving game of his collegiate career and surpassed his previous high of 94 yards, which he had reached twice in 2025.
