No. 8 Ole Miss, No. 7 LSU set for top-10 matchup in Oxford

No. 8 Ole Miss will host No. 7 LSU at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi. The game will be televised on ABC, with streaming available through the ESPN App and radio coverage on the Ole Miss Radio Network.

The matchup is the 13th between Ole Miss and LSU in which both teams were ranked. LSU holds an 8-5 advantage in those games. It is also the first time since 1962 that both teams have entered the contest ranked in the top 10.

LSU leads 11-6 since the Magnolia Bowl trophy was introduced in 2008, while the home team has won 12 of the last 14 meetings. Ole Miss is 3-2 in the teams' last five games, including three ranked matchups and three played in Oxford. In the Rebels' 2025 home victory, Trinidad Chambliss passed for 314 yards, rushed for 71 and accounted for one touchdown.

Ole Miss coach Pete Golding has faced ranked opponents in five of his first six games as head coach. Three were top-10 teams: No. 10 Miami, No. 7 LSU and No. 3 Georgia.

Running back Kewan Lacy enters the game with at least one rushing touchdown in 11 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the FBS. His 27 career rushing touchdowns are tied for third-most in Ole Miss history.

Ole Miss' roster includes eight Louisiana natives: quarterback Walker Howard; linebackers Tah'j Butler and JaMichael Garrett; running back JT Lindsey; defensive end Landon Barnes; wide receiver Kervin Johnson Jr.; safety Anthony Robinson III; and offensive lineman Jalan Chapman. College GameDay is scheduled in Oxford from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. CT.
