Mississippi State to host first ever SEC Starkvegas Showdown

Mississippi State will host Alabama, Auburn and Vanderbilt in the first ever SEC Starkvegas Showdown, a fall tournament in Starkville scheduled for September 18-20.

The Bulldogs will feature Jacopo Borsoi, Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes, Segundo Goity Zapico and Luigi Valletta. Borsoi, Goity Zapico and Valletta will make their first appearances in the maroon and white, while Ferrer Guimaraes is the lone returning player. He enters his fourth season with a 49-32 career record after reaching the quarterfinals of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.

Mississippi State has a winning all-time record against each opponent, leading Alabama 41-26, Auburn 37-21 and Vanderbilt 48-14. The Bulldogs have also won three consecutive matches against Alabama, 13 straight against Auburn and 11 straight against Vanderbilt.

Friday's schedule features Alabama against Vanderbilt at 11 a.m. and Auburn against Mississippi State at 2 p.m. Saturday's matches are Vanderbilt against Mississippi State at 10 a.m. and Alabama against Auburn at 1 p.m.

The tournament concludes Sunday with Auburn against Vanderbilt at 10 a.m. and Alabama against Mississippi State at 1 p.m. The six matches can be followed on StatBroadcast and watched live, while updates are available through MSU Men's Tennis under the handle “HailStateMT” on X, Facebook and Instagram.
