Mississippi State baseball update highlights Foscue, Cijntje and former Bulldogs

Mississippi State’s professional baseball update highlights performances and status reports involving former Bulldogs across the major and minor leagues. Justin Foscue is batting .324 over his last 15 games for the Texas Rangers, while Jurrangelo Cijntje recorded 162 strikeouts during the regular season for the Memphis Redbirds.

Foscue, a second baseman, is batting .270 with 11 home runs, 34 RBIs and an .818 OPS for Texas. His recent stretch includes 11 hits in 34 at-bats, three doubles, six RBIs and four runs scored.

Adam Frazier of the Los Angeles Angels is batting .240 with 31 hits, nine doubles, one home run and 13 RBIs. He delivered a pinch-hit, two-run double against the Twins on Sept. 19. Nathaniel Lowe of the Cleveland Guardians is batting .251 with 17 home runs and 60 RBIs, and singled against the Athletics on Sept. 18.

Brent Rooker, an Athletics outfielder, is batting .200 with 10 home runs and 29 RBIs but will miss the rest of the 2026 season after left-knee surgery. Baltimore Orioles third baseman Jordan Westburg underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-May and will miss the 2026 season.

Cijntje, a pitcher for Memphis, finished the regular season 5-9 with a 4.87 ERA, 162 strikeouts and 67 walks in 133 innings. The update also says he struck out 131 batters in 104 innings and held hitters to a .209 batting average during night games.

Drew Wyers of the Corpus Christi Hooks finished with one hit, one run and one RBI in three at-bats. His season is listed as complete.
