Ole Miss-Missouri kickoff set for Oct. 17 in Oxford
The Southeastern Conference has set the Ole Miss-Missouri football game for 2:30 p.m. CT on October 17 in Oxford. The game will be played at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and its network will be announced next week.
Ole Miss enters the matchup 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play, but will visit Vanderbilt on October 10 before hosting Missouri. The Tigers are 4-1 and will host Texas A&M before traveling to face the Rebels.

Southern Miss schedules free Black-Gold basketball scrimmage
Southern Miss will hold a free Black-Gold Scrimmage for its 2026-27 men's basketball team Tuesday, October 13, at 6 p.m. at Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg. The event is open to the general public.
Parking around M.K. Turk Circle will be limited because of Reed Green Coliseum construction. The university lists the Wellness Center and Payne Center as other parking locations.

Jackson State’s Achau earns third SWAC weekly award
Jackson State freshman Ryan Achau was named the SWAC Men’s Runner of the Week after the Nicholls XC Invitational last Saturday. The conference announced the honor Monday afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama.
Achau won the 4-mile race in 20:01.0 and led Jackson State to its first team victory of the season. He has won all three races this season, with one regular-season meet remaining before the SWAC Championships on October 27.

Blue Mountain’s Williams wins second SSAC defensive honor
Blue Mountain Christian volleyball player Abbi Williams was named the Southern States Athletic Conference Defender of the Week for the second time this season. The conference announced the honor Monday in Montgomery, Alabama.
Williams recorded 37 digs across seven sets over the weekend, averaging 5.28 per set. Her top performance came Friday against William Carey, when she had 26 digs in four sets.

Delta State kicker Nixon earns GSC weekly honor
Delta State graduate kicker Price Nixon was named the Gulf South Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after the Statesmen’s 23-0 win over Shorter last weekend at Parker Field at McCool Stadium.
Nixon made all three of his field-goal attempts, including a career-best 46-yarder, and converted both point-after attempts. Delta State is on a bye this week before traveling to Ferrum College next weekend.
