The Mississippi High School Activities Association is spotlighting the Sumrall volleyball team as this week’s Mississippi Farm Bureau Team of the Week.
Schools can nominate teams for the recognition by submitting a nomination through an online form provided by the MHSAA. The program is associated with Mississippi Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
